Been looking over my three games, the completed Unknown Caller, the completed but not fully fleshed out Curtain Call and the incomplete and possibly unpublishable Despicable Cultists of Arkham. Though I work with a company that produces Call of Cthulhu products, these are all decidedly more indie.

Well, I think I'm going to be working on Curtain Call this weekend, and trying to get it out the door this year. It's not specifically Lynchian, but certainly lends itself to those sorts of stories, and he's the third inspirational David to die whilst I've been working on it.

Besides. Red curtains.

"Until now, you have all sustained fantasies in which you are the maltreated heroes of your own stories. Comforting daydreams in which, ultimately, you are shown to be in the right. No more. For all of you, the dream is over. I have taken it away."

Happy New Year! Out with the old, and in with the ancient...

Happy New Year all! Saw in 2025 with a small group of friends, hoping for a new year better than the last one.

Feels like a mostly accurate summary of 2024 , but I'm surprised by the appearance of James Blunt.

Okay, tree now up, first layer of decorations on. Will wait for Carol to come home to put on the rest of the decorations, as that's the fun part.

Reading over the PDFs the past few days and #TriangleAgency (which feels like a mash up of Paranoia, Delta Green and Welcome to Nightvale) has jumped straight to the top of my want-to-run list, surplanting even DIE. Wish I'd bought a physical copy now.

I mostly enjoyed the last two episodes of #DoctorWho except for the iconic villain of an old story being made to look like an over the top CGI jackal, worse than the ones in The Mummy franchise, and the resolution being essentially word play. Nice tie in to 73 Yards though. Still loving Mrs Flood.

Great final episode of #InsideNo9 - I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this, and this was just perfect. Some lovely call backs and cameos (including an appreciated Taskmaster reunion).

And there's still the live show on the horizon. Can't wait!

Another #DoctorWho that doesn't feel like Doctor Who (very Black Mirror coded) but one of my favourite this season. Some obvious social commentary, some other observations - celebrities don't waste as much time on social media as us plebs? - and a surprisingly dark ending.

The new #DoctorWho has been a bit hit and miss for me, mostly misses with the stories and hits with the acting. Boom felt more on familiar ground, but 73 Yards was a perfect 47 minutes for me, almost a ghost story in its own right. Absolutely love episodes like this.

It's always fun searching for Doctor Who news online, and deliberately misinterpreting other news headlines.

Went out for a night of board games, and was generously gifted a near full bottle of whisky. Can't complain, on either count!

A rogue s slipped into the subtitles here, but made for a wonderful image (from the War of the Worlds: The Attack film now on Amazon Prime).

I amuse myself way too easily (although I laughed out loud, I didn't react to my own joke).

My wife doing a terrible job of annoying me on my birthday, but I'm assuming there's some sort of sponsorship deal going on with Doritos. Though, to be fair, I love the Chilli Heatwave ones.

Beef was a great watch, though certainly uncomfortable at times, as you see the escalation of a feud between the two protagonists, some great dark humour and some really unexpected violent moments, with a trippy finalé. I loved it.

Really loving the TV show From, for a fix of what feels like Lost-style mystery with the sort of graphic and bloody small town horror of Supernatural (though without the humour and probably more gore). Just finished Season 1 and it ends with so many threads you're dying to see resolved.

Finally finished watching Beef, on Netflix, after being introduced to it via Gogglebox, and that went to some real dark places (but also some really weird ones in the final episode, starting off with the crows!) Recommended if you like dark comedies. An instant favourite.

Picture from Friday. These glasses then got flung violently to the floor whilst dancing (you can see the crack in the frame). I turn 49 at the end of August, so I'm planning something more sedate - a pub then a comedy club.
