idk man, can we just Try not to be evil sometimes? Yeah it's expensive to make a drug and you gotta protect your IP if you're gonna try and go to market, but this is just sad. throttling progress to protect IP and squandering the work and ingenuity of thousands of scientists.

These morons don't understand that everyone has hormones?? I'm sorry, I'd love to know if hormone levels contribute to asthma. Also, these assholes keep whining about declining fertility. Maybe we should keep studying how the BRAIN does REPRODUCTIVE THINGS. WHAT DO THESE HAVE TO DO WITH TRANS!? ZIP!

RFK Jr. is a fucking monster. A child dying of a disease the US had eliminated by 2000 is not only unusual, it's a fucking crime. We have a psychopathic asshole running the NIH. Measles isn't something we just accept as a part of life, it's a preventable diseases that kills kids.

the species name aeruginosa either comes from latin and means verdigris (oxidized copper metal; copper rust. think statue of liberty) or greek for “wrinkly”, because when you grow a biofilm of P. aeruginosa, it develops this fascinating wrinkled structure. (photo contains dyes)

in honor of this, a fun fact: the pathogenic bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa farts out cyanide gas, and smells like Turkish delight. if you have a liquid culture of it that’s been sitting still and you pick it up and shake it, it turns a beautiful copper rust color! :)

The destruction of irreplaceable pieces of history occurring due to the fires in SoCal right now should provide context enough as to understand that souping of a Van Gogh. Symbolic threats to artifacts act as warnings: climate chaos will continue to chip away at what we value. End fossil fuels.
