What facilitates emotional biculturalism? (1/2)

Friends! Friends act as “ambassadors” of culturally typical emotions. When minority adolescents have majority friends, they’re more likely to have higher emotional fit with the majority culture.

Can immigrant minorities experience emotional fit with both the majority and their ethnic cultures?

Yes! Yeasle’s research shows immigrant-origin adolescents can experience emotional fit with both—a process known as emotional biculturalism.
