There's a LOT of conversation about the Telsa protest on Saturday in Meridian. Many activists and organizers are trying to get to the bottom of the event. I've talked with a lot of folks and here's my take:
update: after talking with a bunch more folks, I'm still unable to find any local organizer for the Tesla protest. Personally, I do not think it's a false flag, I think if that were the case, it'd be better executed.... But as far as myself and every organizer/activist I've talked to is able to determine, there's no local organizer. I can't, in good conscience, recommend that anyone take part in a protest without a local organization. Also, based on all the escalating nazi social media mutterings about this, my personal threat assessment puts this in a VERY high-risk category.

We're getting more and more requests to relaunch the Progressive Idaho Discord. So... we, the moderators, are discussing it.

More details are in the screenshot below, and we'd love to hear your thoughts. #ConnectTheDots
Some of you were around a few years ago when we had the progressive Idaho discord group. (for those unfamiliar, it's like slack but geared towards online communities -- it's pretty popular in gaming, hobbies, book clubs, etc). That discord group was rather popular during the height of the doom and gloom of the twitter take-over, covid, etc. but it started going inactive in the last year or so (except for a couple private channels). About six months ago I started getting questions about relaunching it, I mostly ignored those requests. But just in the last week or two it's become a popular enough topic that I felt I had to respond, and I've been discussing it with the moderators. We're willing to put in the work to get some energy back into it and promote it in our various circles, if there's enough demand for it. right now, I think there might be. So.... would you be interested in us relaunching the discord? It wouldn't replace this signal group, but it'd allow longer and more nuanced conversations, and those conversations can break out into different topic channels even some hobbies (books, crafting, etc). we'd refocus the discord on helping "connect the dots" and #resist in any way we can, we'd also consider doing some meetups, live chats, virtual events, etc. thoughts?
