That's a VERY tough question to answer, as there are so many fantastic Discworld books. A few of my favourites, in no particular order, off the top of my head:

Small Gods, Lords and Ladies, Carpe Jugulum, Reaper Man, Soul Music, Thief of Time, Feet of Clay, Going Postal, Night Watch, ...

Loved Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon. I grew up as more of a fantasy reader (Discworld, Tolkien, C S Lewis). When I was in my teens I started getting into sci-fi books as well. Snow Crash, Cryptonomicon, Steven Baxter's Voyage (and later Neal Asher and Iain M. Banks) were big influences.

If it helps you relax, improves your mental health, connects you with people, inspires you, improves your memory or cognitive function (just some of the potential benefits of gaming), then I'd argue that it most certainly ISN'T a waste of time.

I really enjoyed it. Loved the characters, enjoyed the writing and storylines. Loved the fact that it explored a different side to the Jedi and a different era than we've seen on screen. I'm sad there won't be another season.

1980s - playing Elite on the Commodore 64, Repton on the BBC Micro and various games on my friend's ZX Spectrum.

1990s - Lemmings on the Acorn Archimedes, Doom, Command & Conquer, Warcraft II and Starcraft on PC, Mario and Street Fighter 2 on the SNES.
