Without due process for everyone, no one in America has rights. When you get grabbed and you say that you are a citizen with a birth certificate to prove it, the agent could just say, "That is not our information, so you don't go before a judge, and you don't get a hearing." Next stop, El Salvador.

Surely this kind of unsubstantiated allegation of criminal conduct risks tainting the jury pool and makes any subsequent prosecution more difficult. An agent who publicly alleges that an uncharged individual has committed a crime should be suspended immediately and face a full investigation.

Federal law enforcement has no business calling an individual -- especially an elected official -- corrupt without charges having been filed, and even then an "innocent until proven guilty" disclaimer would have been required. This should result in discipline. Do your talking in court or shut up.
