Twitter is overrun by Nazis, but lefty edgelords make it a miserable experience too. I'm a leftist, but some of these people are nuts. The replies to this tweet are full of "actually, it's good to have killed these particular kids". I will not miss this at all.

I have a number of new followers who write about film. If one of you is reading this, I'd like to know the best way to break into freelance gigs without prior publications. I have academic pubs outside of film and a popular piece in Skeptic. Should I just submit pitches or is there a better way?
