Hegseth's statement that "women will have access to ground combat roles" if "standards remain high" is the same sort of nonsense as Kavanaugh's statement that "Roe v Wade is settled law."

It's squishy, it sounds like he's ok with the status quo, but it leaves him plenty of room to reverse course
