Let’s talk about The Arsenal.
A few weeks? Understatement of the year!

Spot on. Turning bodies away going in half hearted is not the one. Saliba, Kiwior, MLS all culpable of doing so tonight resulting in two goals and a penalty giveaway. We also need to talk about the curious case of Martin Odegaard. Again woeful in possession and little output.

Seems to want to take 8 touches every time he receives the ball. Well off his best at the moment.

Yea you’re probably right. Ref gestured the advantage when giving the yellow.

Scott, are there any stats out there on how long on average a player / team holds on to the ball before passing or releasing it? You look at Liverpool vs us in possession this season and it seems stark how hesitant our players are taking “one touch too many” Liverpool seem far more fluid and natural

Wise.

If they lose another game then it’s completely in our hands only 😬

Dude, I wish I had your optimism but I see our 3 attackers for the next 6 weeks…

Putting other player comparisons aside as they are not robots (..well Haaland is but that’s neither here nor there), it’s clear Havertz has been running on empty for quite a while and we know what fatigue equals. It’s been negligent of the club not providing adequate/any cover for that front line.

I’d describe that as a hall of shame performance (certainly by some players). My Arsenal player ratings vs Newcastle in the 0-4 aggregate loss:

Raya 1
Timber 3
Saliba 1
Gabriel 3
MLS 6
Partey 4
Rice 3
Odegaard 5
Trossard 2
Havertz 1
Martinelli 2
Nwaneri 6
Sterling 1
Merino 1
Calafiori 6
Jorginho 5

Journalism as bad as the arsenal performance.

Well below our usual levels is an understatement. Hall of shame performance from a couple of players tonight.

Obviously love Saliba, but he’s demonstrated more than once that nerves can get to him. Was atrocious that half. Basic errors from the Kiwior playbook.
February 5, 2025 at 8:53 PM
Really bright start then reverted to type after 10 mins. Martinelli and Rice the standouts that half. Much more needed from Sterling, Odegaard & Havertz. A couple of shakey moments at the back from Kiwior and Timber demonstrates that we need another goal or two to kill the game off.

Yea I think you’re right. To be honest I gave him a 6 only because of the excellent tackle in the lead up to goal two. Other than that… trash.
January 15, 2025 at 10:17 PM
Unbelievable, isn’t it? Pretty much either poor execution or wrong decision EVERY SINGLE TIME. Yes we won, but my goodness our attack is terrible right now.
January 15, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Honestly embarrassing.
January 12, 2025 at 2:57 PM
I gave him a 6 because of his assist. Other than that, agreed, he was also dreadful
January 4, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Overcommits to win the ball back and doesn’t then commit the tactical foul. So poor.
