Texas is going through a devastating time. More than 80 people were killed in the catastrophic Texas flooding over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. A UTSA faculty member was among those confirmed dead.

An East Texas dairy farmer, Bobby Cole, announced his bid for Texas Governor, challenging Republican Greg Abbott. Few candidates have announced their run against Abbott, who is running for re-election in 2026.

Recap of San Antonio protests last night: Remained peaceful despite a significant police presence and more than 300 demonstrators at the Alamo and City Hall. SAPD told MySA that no arrests were made during the protests.

District 10 councilman Marc Whyte spoke to the press about the “distasteful” protest occurring outside city hall.

“A lot of what's going on out here is disrespectful and I don't like the language that's being used,” he said.
