#IDAHOBIT25 centres around the power of community. It's something we've seen plenty of recently, in response to attempts to further strip back LGBTQIA+ rights in the UK and across the globe.

We wish we didn't have to fight for this, but it's always incredible to see the strength of our community.

But this does mean that the fight is far from over. We still have the power to advocate for change, and ensure the protection of trans and non-binary people. This ruling does not mean that trans inclusion and protection has become unlawful.

Whilst the Supreme Court cannot make or change laws, it can set a precedent for how laws are applied in practice. We expect further guidance to emerge around the implications that this ruling will have in day-to-day settings.

Within education, we have concerns around the increased risk that this shift may create for both staff and students, both as a result of legal and social changes. This could include changes in admission policies, access to facilities or curricula.
April 25, 2025 at 2:29 PM
However, within this ruling it is still unclear how this may be applied, what they deem the word "biological" to mean, and how this ruling may conflict with other laws protecting trans people from discrimination.

It's fantastic to see our founder Laïla in today's @divamag.bsky.social Power List 2025, for #LesbianVisibilityWeek

The list is a timely reminder of the tireless fighting happening across the LGBTQIA+ community, especially by women and non-binary people.
