Devils in Paradise, Book 3 in my Comfort & Co. series is out now! It's being marketed as a standalone by publisher Holand Press, but it's really the continuing adventures of LA's finest post-WWII detective duo, Kit and Henry. Explosions, spies in Chanel, secret codes, puppies--it's got 'em all.

No "say cheese" for Cheddar. As much as he loves L.A. Kitten Rescue, he and his bro are serious about finding a new home.

A few moments from the well-attended, peaceful Glendale, CA, No Kings protests. In true L.A. style, there were lots of drive-by protesters—people who waved signs from their cars or had signs taped to their doors. The car honking added energy and fun to the afternoon.

Lately I've been reminded of the words of JFK (actually speechwriter Ted Sorensen), altered slightly to reflect the need of the moment.

Amber was adopted recently from Kitten Rescue, along with her cranky little brother. I miss seeing her gorgeous face, but was thrilled to learn both have a new home together. April 27th KR is holding their annual "April Shower" event, complete with adoptable, adorable kitties and a silent auction.

Today, the Gulf of Mexico, tomorrow what? Dollars to doughnuts, this is just a precursor to Trump naming stuff after himself. I switched to the OpenStreetMap app. Community owned, kowtowing to no one.

Denise may have CPV, but she's also got the greenest eyes I have ever seen! Emeralds.

Pics from my first day volunteering at L.A.'s Kitten Rescue. All the gorgeous, adorable cats below have CPV, a non-infectious, non-life-threatening condition that affects their muscle control. They wobble and topple, but are mostly as goofy and energetic as normal kittens.

Literary Christmas 2024: Among others, something old (the classic Devil in a Blue Dress), something blue (Midnight and Blue), something by an author new to me (James) and something new by an old, familiar author (The Backyard Bird Chronicles). Tan also does the very impressive bird illustrations!

Any guesses which mid-century movie stars these cats are emulating? As a gift, artist Rich Nairn created these Hollywood versions of my daughter's three kitties. I think they're very cool!
