Let’s break down the Regina numbers. 531 km in 2005. Exact same amount in 2021. Suddenly down to 500 km in Dec.,
2022. That’s remarkable, if true. Especially since the city has acknowledged it is having difficulty meeting its target of replacing 10 km per year.

50-60 yrs to replace the (at least) 500 km of old asbestos cement water pipe in Regina. How come it is a priority, and causes cancer in Kenya, and not in Regina?

Please read the NRC studies I sent. In 2003, the City of Regina paid $5-million for them. Health Canada maintains that it’s okay to drink asbestos. I sit on the board of @preventcancernow.bsky.social
It strongly disagrees with that position.

Drinking asbestos is safe? Health Canada’s new study can’t see why not - Prevent Cancer Now
Health Canada commissioned a flawed study that purportedly confirmed that there is no "consistent, convincing evidence' that drinking asbestos causes cancer.

I couldn’t be there in person, but as a federal NDP leadership candidate I would like to hear/see your plan to replace the 13.7-thousand km of old
asbestos cement water pipes in Canada. BTW, Edmonton has 1,044 km.

State to replace ageing water pipes in Tetu over health concerns
Scientists believe asbestos when used in roofing and piping could be a possible link to gastrointestinal cancers in humans.
