Hard for me to say… I’ll be in Canada for about half of the window but I don’t know if I’d change how much I order, but maybe I’ll tip a bit more as a percentage.

I think it’s a function of someone setting up the terminals that way once and it stuck and became normalized. But that normalization is now the expectation. Quebec has proposed a law mandating suggested tip %s should be based on pre-tax amount.

I believe the restaurant association pegs the increase in volume at 5%, but just an estimate.
