The Calgary Stampede fireworks are amazing! But they pale in comparison to the natural fireworks display offered by Hawaii's Kilauea eruptions, which are happening every week or so right now. Episode #28 is currently underway. WOW!!

On a walk in YYC this afternoon 5 loud aircraft like the one pictured below flew overhead, going south. They were US Marine V-22 Ospreys, presumably returning after some sort of protection detail involved in the G7 summit. Not sure I appreciated them being in CDA!

History was made in YYC today with the official sod turning for the 1st component of the Arts Commons Transformation project,a new 1000 seat theatre hall.

Sometimes, even in the City, wildlife makes an appearance when you don't expect it! Here are two beavers (Mama and Junior) which I came across in the Elbow River today, right beside Stampede Park in Calgary. Cool!

Was that at the Calgary show? I didn't get tickets, but have been wondering how the concert was. I watched Road Diary recently which was filmed as a runup to this tour. A great film for Springsteen fans!

An exciting collaboration was announced today in Calgary, between the National Music Center in Canada and the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Centre for American Music! On hand were Stevie Van Zandt and Garry Tallent from the E Street Band, and E.D. Bob Santelli. The Boss is playing Calgary tomorrow!
