Just read a few comments here about today's event

Half of this site should be locked up in a mental asylum

This is such a good point. If you actually watch Charlie’s events—as opposed to the fake summaries—they are one of the few places with open and honest dialogue between left and right. He would answer any question and talk to everyone.

Priceless mental breakdown in replies
Bluesky’s user base is roughly 40% female and 60% male. While we don’t collect gender data directly, we manually sampled ~1,500 users to get a representative estimate and a separate analysis by Hootsuite came to a similar demographic split.

2FA itself, as we experience it today, is archaic.

Passwords + any kind of one-time code you have to type = 2 steps, one factor that’s likely reused across websites, all phishable.

Passkeys = 1 step, no reuse across websites, phishing resistant.
Email 2fa is really archaic, it should support totp at least! The only other major email-only 2fa user that I know of is Steam (derogatory)

Reason why I hate homebrew: it randomly broke and how should I know how to fix it?

This entire casks-fonts repo disappeared (not archived). Yeah, cool, I can untap it, but where should I find stuff installed from this repo now?

Vibecoding? It's not about getting the "AI" to write code that works. It's about conning the client into accepting the resulting pile of shit as a "progressive result". Don't mistake incompetence for progress.

Since Anthropic gave me $50 to try Claude Code decided to share what I saw

I gave pretty simple description of small library I want to create in existing repo (with working tests and linter)

After 40 minutes and $1.26 it said "i've done" but library is overengineered and have broken tests

Was migrating to the new version of Cloudflare's Terraform provider, and I have questions for the person who approved this. It's such a painful process with literally zero benefits for me as a user of it.

Had this problem with Google Meet. Yeah, you can work around it by switching output back and forth a few times, but it was annoying as hell.

Just checked it and it was finally fixed

Why is everyone blaming Elon for the bots problem, but I see more crypto scam bots here and not on X?

So, bunch of leftists came here from Twitter and start reporting everything they disagree with?

What an unexpected surprise!
In the past 24 hours, we have received more than 42,000 reports (an all-time high for one day). We’re receiving about 3,000 reports/hour. To put that into context, in all of 2023, we received 360k reports.

We’re triaging this large queue so the most harmful content such as CSAM is removed quickly.
