Comparison of #cameratrapping and in-person surveys to estimate #grouse densities.
Spolier, comparable results were obtained

How important is the #cameratrap you use?
A recent article compares three cameras (of different prices) and shows great variability in the information recorded

One more study assessing the utility of unmarked methods -UD- (REM, CTDS & TTE) to estimate population density against SCR and distance sampling in 10 species

Conclusions:
1️⃣UD suitable for species occuring at densities > 0.1 ind/km2
2️⃣UD vastly surpass both SCR and DS in terms of taxonomic range

Realy nice review on how do #ecologists estimate #occupancy in practice

It seems that single-species is the most common model family, #mammals the most common group, and unmarked #Rpackage the most common software

Recent review on #cameratrapping studies!

1️⃣living planet index was identified as a driver of #cameratrap research growth
2️⃣ camera-trap studies are predominantly conducted in the USA, followed by England and Australia
3️⃣studies align with sustainable development goal 15 (Life on Land)
