The front garden came in nice this year.

Ok they said it nicer, but basically what I said.

Ahh yes, that time when Mrs. B headed off to the airport to go do lawyer things for the first Muslim ban and promised to keep a low profile. A good reminder of how quickly he tried to pull this same kind of crap during the first go around.

How Mrs B thinks:

After 265 days, we will gladly take a little rain.

Why not combine the two and enjoy weird cat art?

We got A LOT of thank you notes to write.

Here we go again. Castaic. About 45 miles north of downtown Los Angeles.

A snap of a portion of the damage report from just one of the two L.A. fires. Link to full website: recovery.lacounty.gov/palisades-fi...

The county building inspectors are recording the damage for every parcel.

Our Church small group met here three weeks ago. It was the home of the parents of one of the wives. I can tell you that the little buzzer at the top of the stairs was broken before the fire.

Wassup?

Unfortunately a good sized flare up. Lots of ash. Winds back to east to west. Night 4 Palisades Fire.
January 11, 2025 at 5:37 AM
Night 4 of the Los Angeles fires. Winds remain calm thank God.
January 11, 2025 at 1:08 AM
Just a small amount of glow. A huge difference from two nights ago. The fires are still burning, but not nearly as intense. Today’s challenge: friends who need to find long term rentals in an area already light on housing.
January 10, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Relatively quiet morning. Getting a good amount of ash, but that’s a good thing. It means the Santa Anna’s aren’t ripping out to the pacific, but instead have been replace by the typical more humid, gentler, west to east air flow.

Palisades fire last night vs. tonight.
January 9, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Thankfully much calmer tonight—scroll down my feed to see footage of the fires from the same place last night when the winds were really howling.
January 9, 2025 at 3:40 AM
Looks like the damage has been mostly kept north of Sunset Blvd, once east of Chautauqua, with the exception of a finger running down toward the Riviera Country Club. That being said, looks the the western edge of Mandeville is the new front line.
January 8, 2025 at 10:26 PM
Unfortunately the wind speeds keep picking up. This is from about 4 miles south of the current fire lines. It’s 5 to 10 mph higher in the canyons. The Palisades weather station is down.
January 8, 2025 at 5:14 AM
The Pacific Palisades fire has really flared up over the last hour or so.
January 8, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Pacific Palisades fire is not good. Heading home now to let in some friends who had to evacuate. Fire heading down canyon to PCH. Smoke mostly going out over the ocean.

Mrs B got me one of those Bird Buddy camera bird feeders. So far I’m impressed. Also I expect work productivity to drop in a meaningful way.
