I get the point that's trying to be made here, but it's actually inaccurate. The *MAJORITY* of actual practitioners in the tech industry have a position that is neither of these, it's merely getting drowned out by these two loud positions. The most common belief in the tech industry is simple:
There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

@simonwillison.net regarding the definition of vibe coding… for me it can be accepting one line or whole files or projects. The thing that makes it vibe coding is if you bother to read and understand the code it is suggesting.

It's interesting that there is all of this debate about Japanese failing to import US cars because the entire US industry has focused on huge-ass trucks… and at the same time a new truck was announced that looks like it might actually do well in the Japanese market. www.slate.auto/en

🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

A lot of people mistake aggressive risk taking for genius. It can take a long time for someone doing that to blow up and in the meantime they can fool a lot of people. When their number finally comes up, they can have such a following that they rely on their popularity and network to recover.

It is pretty understandable why Democratic politicians are still tweeting on twitter, as that's still a platform with a large and influential audience. What I don't get is why they don't follow this policy:

1.) post to Bluesky, Mastodon, etc...
2.) wait 30 minutes
3.) post it to X
