So Trump has been telling these people that he was going to deport them back to Afghanistan despite having asylum where they would be put to certain death by the Taliban, and he and his fellow genius Stephen Miller are caught off guard that one of these brutal killers did a brutal revenge killing.

Great analysis of Congress, the administrative state, and institutions in civil society. I can only hope the across-the-board electoral GOP losses embolden opposition in Congress and by the universities, courts, media, etc.

Who is Trump's John Yoo?

Boy, we might be able to get malaria under control pretty cheaply with vaccinations and new drugs. And then Bill Gates won't have an excuse for climate inaction.

The FBI was willing to let Trump go on the statutory rape of a 15 year old because Epstein delivered her to him but only if he cooperated in taking Epstein down.

Cory could bankrupt people who take a short position on AI. That's what the student is supposed to do with his critique. Get the family savings, max out his loans, find fellow student investors and go short on AI. There is no future waiting for you. Make money on the crash. Make nihilism profitable

It's sad. I hope Physics is better. My daughter will start grade school next year. I am blocking you. I don't want part of this conversation.

Look, all I can see is that there are very ugly corners in Philosophy, perhaps not as ugly as Econ. The student is a young woman. And some philosophers seem willing to imply horrible things about her without knowing the facts of this case.

There was no not guitly Senate verdict. The Title IX Office ruled against him. The Tenure and Privileges Committee couldn't revoke his tenure, so it was kicked up to Christ who revoked it. And Napolitano backed the decision.

The complaint is incredibly detailed about what allegedly happened, and it is far more than this.

But the settlement was paid, it seems. There was no jury trial. The problem seems to be all on Searle's side. The Judge said that he unambiguously agreed to the settlement.
September 29, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Why would there be a jury if there was a pre-trial settlement. Google shows me the Judge compelled Searle to stick to the unambiguous language of the settlement. You are implying serious wrongdoing by the student who was vindicated by the Chancellor and President.
September 29, 2025 at 9:08 PM
You will find a statement about the settlement. Searle did pay the student a financial sum and did contribute to a woman’s organization She demanded enforcement of the settlement and got it. Of course the Judge ‘quit’ after that. Searle did lose at the Title IX office & his emeritus status

I’ll see if this has been corrected.

he’s a knock off Bannon for Trump. Trump listens to him because Bannon isn’t docile enough and too troubled even for Trump.

One day he“ll get a presidential medal just like his hero Limbaugh. unlike Limbaugh though no one will ever voluntarily listen to him. He will have to be imposed from the White House on the public. He’s cruel but can’t create the sadistic joy and power rush Limbaugh could in a disturbed audience
