tvm. The style does really suit the message, but I look forward to carving a nice Roman ARSE later this week.

I do get a bit ick about the poppy fetishisation. My dad joined the army just before WW2 and fought through the whole thing, inc all of Burma. He'd wear a poppy if someone pressed one on him, but he didn't go for all this schmaltz.

If memory serves it would be rude to refuse. A guy once wanted me to make him some silver goblets based on the shape of Marie Antoinette's breasts. The commission didn't go ahead. Instead he had a large goblet, silver gilt, comfortably big enough for 1/2 bottle of wine. www.eater.com/2014/12/10/7...

OMG. I understand my first French pun. I had 3 years of French at secondary school and it was universally hideous. Taught by a tiny Scottish man with OCD who wore a 3-piece tweed suit and spoke French with an Edinburgh accent.

tbh France rules the world of cakes. As fond as I am of my cultural heritage, and I can bang on about Welsh cakes at length, it has been necessary in the past to have me physically dragged from the window of a small town French patisserie. I want it ALL and I want it NOW.

Takes me that long to eat one :/

Thank you! And of course auto translate refers to those famous French pastries, "lightning bolts"!
