I spent much of my childhood and teen years in churches. Preachers always talked about having discernment: being able to tell truth from lies, knowing good from evil, having wisdom. Now many American Christians are displaying an astonishing lack of discernment. They have lost their minds and souls.

The TikTok shutdown was a political stunt manufactured to boost Donald Trump’s popularity.

It did not work. Many on TikTok are now turning on Trump and TikTok leadership.

No matter where you fall on the TikTok ban, the President undoing by “executive order” a law passed by Congress and upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court is an unconstitutional abuse of power.

I like to think of productivity like an energy bar in a video game. You only have a certain amount of moves before you run out of energy and have to wait. I like to use this to “work smarter not harder” because there is only so much you can do in a day without proper rest. 1/3

The most interesting thing about neurodivergence is the fact that I can write a fully fleshed-out research paper in a day because I procrastinated until the due date. However, trying to set my own writing goals for my personal projects are in fact — useless.

thread, up and down.

also, not to put too fine a point on it, if you are managing any kind of neurodivergence or mental health issue, shorting yourself on sleep will quickly turn that into a crisis.
The productivity craze has been detrimental in many ways, but the most ironic one is that it has people going to bed at midnight and getting up at 4am and bragging about it while accumulating sleep debt that's actually making every single task and project HARDER and more prone to error.

If you don’t have a local library card, it should be your New Year’s resolution to get one. It’s an easy resolution to keep and you’ll actually use it, trust me.

I have always found it so interesting that we, as humans, really struggle to see when we overlook something. As someone who works with people, I have noticed that most people, regardless of their understanding, think they are the smartest person in the room at any given moment. This bias of -

Great overview of places to get free ebooks/audio. Depending on your library, you may have a different amount of books you can put on hold/check out at one time on the apps. As for Edelweiss and NetGalley, I've gotten more than 400 books/audiobooks from them since 2018. #Booksky #BookBlogger

What’s everyone’s favorite nonfiction book of 2024? I have been recently delving into more nonfiction lately, and I’m curious as to what everyone else has been reading! Definitely would like some recommendations~
