I mean the protestors have gotten violent. And I doubt the military personnel are there to actually do anything violent themselves. Blockade the riots from spreading? Much more likely. Im pretty sure keeping the fires and crazies to a small circle is better than the entire city burning down.

Hmm. Best advice I can give ya.. The higher power of the universe, be it God, the mysterious entity you mention, of whoever you worship would be happy to help you, but you need to meet them halfway. You show them youre willing to work for it and they'll take care of the rest.
