It'd be great if our media approached this subject with a little more healthy scepticism. @annacwhyte.bsky.social www.thepost.co.nz/politics/360...

The march is cancelled but the strike is still on!
Please show your solidarity with striking workers tomorrow by posting a selfie with hashtags #StandTogetherForHealth #SaveOurServices #MarangaAke #MarangaMai

Our right to strike has been limited by neo liberal governments - but the 23rd October will be a powerful reminder of our collective power. Join us at Queens Wharf on 23 October at 12:20 to march to Parliament. Rally at Parliament at 1pm.

We oppose the additional billions being spent on defence.

And we support a union movement that stands against genocide.

Unions have a proud history of improving conditions for workers and standing with oppressed peoples around the world.

BUT Aotearoa Supports Pay and conditions that ensure our public health and education systems are able to care for us ALL.

We support all those going on strike - the teachers, support staff, health workers, nurses, doctors, dentists, social workers, physiotherapists and mental health staffers.

3. Overriding Te Tiriti: The Amendment Bill takes an unprecedented approach by including provisions that expressly prevail over the purpose of the Act and the Tiriti o Waitangi provisions

Māori rights matter.
Justice is not negotiable.
A response will come.

1. Retrospective Theft: The Bill applies retrospectively from 25 July 2024

2. Impossible Standards: The amendments require proof of "exclusive use and occupation from 1840 to the present day without substantial interruption."

We've now had multiple MPs (notably, people from marganlised groups) resign after campaigns of hate and harassment coordinated by known far-right influencers. This can't be good for our democracy
