Looking retirement in the face and I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.

A leisurely hike around Hematite Lake in the Land Between the Lakes on the Kentucky side. Turtles (and, apparently, beavers) doing their thing. This was just before the big storms rolled through.

Glad to see the humans and penguin survived unhurt.

With that out of the way…

Ventured on Facebook to check flood reports and local road conditions.

Nope.

Hasn’t changed.

Not a nope rope, but I did do a little dance. And my screech set the local blackbirds in flight.

I might have to figure out how to preserve this one.

Apparently, the latest images from Intuitive Machines’ Odysseus moon lander have started to roll out.

I spent this winter preparing for our returning Black Vultures by sealing every hole in our outbuildings. Thought I had it until I opened an old RV & came face to face with a pissed off vulture. Luckily no eggs yet.

How do such large #birds squeeze through such a tiny hole? Pics from last year.

Our daffodils are a mite bewildered by our abnormally warm February temps.

No gifs? I may need medication.

Yikes!

It’s Feb 7. Fred & Ethyl are back. Usually black vultures (Coragyps atratus) start roosting much later.

Other pics from last spring before Junior left the “nest”.

I hope the barn & outbuildings are now sealed so they move on. Otherwise squirrels & song birds will head to the next county.
