By using headings correctly, you make your content meaningful for both humans and search engines.
November 12, 2025 at 11:14 AM
🤖 For Google: search engines read your headings to understand the main topics and structure of your page. A logical structure helps them rank your content for the right keywords.

♿ For accessibility: they are essential for users with screen readers and allow them to navigate your page efficiently.
November 12, 2025 at 11:14 AM
🧑‍💻 For your visitors: it creates a clear hierarchy, allows people to easily scan your content and find exactly what they're looking for.
November 12, 2025 at 11:14 AM
Headings are a semantic tool, not just to make your text look bigger or nice.

Proper use of headings is a win-win for you:

Then here is you action plan:
- use one H1 tag for your main page title.
- use H2 tags for your main sections.
-use H3 tags for sub-sections within an H2.

To wrap up this thread, I'd like to say that I've decided to go with AWeber and managed to implement email marketing on my website.

I don't know why but their help files don't mention domain protection, i had to use a workaround so my emails would come from a subdomain. If separate domain, no prob
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
This whole process also helped me understand the Beehiiv/Substack phenomenon.

They aren't really the same thing. They're publishing platforms. They're a different tool for a different job, which is a key distinction. Can you use them for email marketing? sure can, but there is some difference.
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
So, applying my checklist, the final choice was pretty practical:
1) GetResponse/Constant Contact: didn't quite fit my "free runway" or "no-strings-attached trial" criteria.

2) AWeber: Nailed everything on the list. The history, the tech, and a genuinely useful free plan for up to 500 subs.
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
My research into the past revealed that there are three main email marketing pioneers:
1. AWeber (since '98)
2. Constant Contact (since '95)
3. GetResponse (since '98)

One could argue you could also add Mailchimp here, but am not sure it owns its infrastructure any more.
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
In addition, i only focused this time on ESPs with a 20+ track record, who own their infrastructure (closer to the metal), have direct control over their IP reputations and decades-long relationships with ISPs like Gmail, and strict policies, so emails are sent from a clean reputable network.
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
so I decided to draw up a basic checklist of criteria:

a) real deliverability
b) domain protection with a subdomain.
c) a real free runway - at least 500 subs.
d) basic automation - welcome email.
e) simple tagging
f) built-in forms/pages to actually collect emails (helpful, but not critical).
November 11, 2025 at 4:46 PM
So instead of listening to the marketing noise on reddit, i researched deep into the past.

Interestingly, the companies that meet the above criteria, don't shout about themselves or at least shout least of all (to be continued later).

3. Strict policies, so emails are sent from a clean reputable network.

4. Has direct control over their IP reputations and decades-long relationships with ISPs like Gmail.
November 10, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Finally, as i gathered more and more info, my criteria became clearer to me: it must be a provider (ESP):
1. Who is legit with a long history and track record;

2. Owns its infrastructure, which gives them ultimate control over deliverability and security ;
November 10, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Then tried to research more indepth and read different reviews and subreddits.
November 10, 2025 at 9:30 PM
At first i tried to use one provider, and its app was so unintuitive that i had to give up (mentioned this in one of the previous posts).

Not giving it room to perform ⏳

A huge mistake: posting for 3 weeks, seeing no massive results, and quitting.

Marketing is a marathon, not a sprint.

It takes time to build trust, gain traction, and see an ROI. A strategy needs time and room to work before pulling the plug.
