Started work on the #Seiko #6309-7040.
So, the crown gasket must have needed replacing, right?? 🫣🥲
I wonder if this 40 year old watch was actually used for diving?

Coming back to this #Omega 1143 after a break. Will have to shelf this one for a bit, but it's been a fun learning experience regardless

Fresh from Japan, I found a #Seiko 6309-7040 from my birth year, '84.
Not in working condition, but I've already repaired a 6309 before 👍

It's even got the original strap 😍

Seiko 5 7019-6010 overhaul complete ✅

This one took a bit longer as it didn't come with the original stem and crown, which were special; the internal bezel rotates with the help of a tiny gear and spring that sits in sync with the stem.

In between the articles telling me I'll be fired because I WFH, you gotta have a tone-deaf op-ed about the economy 🙄

I may be middle-class, but I’m starting to feel the pinch
As costs have risen, I can no longer afford the oysters and designer linens. It feels like I’m in the midst of genteel poverty.
