Addicted to podcasts and vloggs, especially those that aim to educate, entertain and inform (sound familiar?)
Might the pale aesthetic be as much about class as race? It would be easier for well off women to look pale and consumptive than working class women - unless they were actually consumptive.

Listened to this today. Really interesting.

It never occurred to me that the Victorian bustle might be an imitation of the black female figure.
