Why do trains in the UK cost so much at peak hours?
It's mostly NOT due to privatisation
It is because the UK state has not invested enough in its network to up capacity, and even today does not subsidise operations very much

I think that if you want the genuine "ordinary people" perspective on trans "issues" in Britain, the one everyone claims is so valuable and important because we must bow to the gut feeling of the least informed, it's this.

This is definitely one of those "fun day on the internet" days when you learn a lot about the Roman Empire and Christianity and you see some truly cutting insults about the Leader of the Opposition.
This is an absolutely magnificent insult for a certain type of person that we've all encountered too often (this was Kemi Badenoch, but there are plenty of others).
I think ultimately intelligence is partly a matter of practice, and she doesn't.
