Remember: Trump or Russian propagandists might say otherwise, but Putin is not winning, and the Ukrainians are not losing.
I am told that internal Ukrainian army information shows that more than 26,000 Russian soldiers were killed or critically wounded in the month of November. Confirmed by videos. No wonder Putin wants to get Trump to give him territory for free

“RFK Jr Wants to kill your kids” = The Republican Party wants to kill your kids.

RFK Jr has no capacity to threaten America’s children without the active enabling of the GOP.

President Trump is pardoning a convicted Honduran drug lord who openly boasted that he would "stuff the drugs right up the noses of the gringos," and push drugs into America.

This is the most pro-crime, pro-corruption administration in our country's history.
Trump plans to pardon former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking
Former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández was sentenced to 45 years in prison for running a “narco-state” that helped send cocaine to the United States.

When it’s fishermen they’re pretending are low level drug runners, they’ll bomb and then circle back to finish off the survivors.

But someone convicted in a court of masterminding a massive cocaine trafficking scheme? Well, he’s wearing a suit. Come on.

How many thousands of Americans will die from the Trump/RFK/GOP regime? How many American children?
Trump just ended a rule limiting a type of pollution that causes heart and lung disease.

The rule was expected to save thousands of American lives every year.

Trump’s MAGA plans will do the same to the USA
the price of populism
"By 2025, Brexit had reduced UK GDP by 6% to 8%, with the impact accumulating gradually over time. We estimate that investment was reduced by between 12% and 18%, employment by 3% to 4% and productivity by 3% to 4%"

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.

Dear Ukraine,

I apologize. I’m sorry my country elected someone who works for Putin. Someone who’s on Putin’s side. As long as he is President, America won’t stand with you. Just know tho, that most Americans DO stand with you.

The Republican Party continues to show full obedience to Trump. A few doubtful voices are being heard. Talk is cheap. I’ll start being hopeful when they take real and meaningful actions to bring his dictatorship to a halt.
"It’s now clear that potent opposition to the dictatorship requires concerted efforts by actors across the country, both in and out of government, all directed at bringing every abuse of the regime and its dictator to the attention of a public that is already alarmed."

Read this:
New in PN: The lame duck dictatorship

"It’s increasingly clear that Trump & his captive political party are in the midst of a political reversal. Every major 'policy' of theirs is unpopular & the regime’s leader is a lame duck dictator who's poised to draw his party deeper into a political abyss."

Roberts has earned a prime spot in the future hall of shame. Traitor to the Constitution he swore to protect.
Of all the terrible things Roberts has done, this was the most shocking stat: "the right-wing majority has used the shadow docket to uphold Trump’s actions roughly 90 percent of the time, repeatedly bailing him out of any obligation to follow the law"
There’s one person squarely to blame for Trump’s corruption, authoritarianism & assault on democracy: John Roberts. He’s enabled so much of Trump’s lawlessness while somehow escaping accountability for it

Inflation isn’t all the same. When prices rise because demand is strong, firms earn more and can raise wages. With tariff-driven inflation, firms face higher costs, not higher revenues—so prices go up but paychecks don’t. Same pain, less gain.

The attack on democracy is a Republican Party effort. Trump serves their goal for the time being, but the GOP is committed to replacing democracy with an authoritarian regime.

So, not at all surprising to see GOP Senators attacking the judiciary.
NEW: GOP senators are advancing Trump’s war on the judiciary — demanding the suspension of Chief Judge James Boasberg just days before he rules on potential contempt for Trump-era officials.

This follows months of threats against Boasberg for stifling Trump’s mass deportation efforts.

Anne Applebaum as usual on the mark. I would add: most elected Republicans quietly fold the millisecond this happens to them. So in speaking up MTG is GOP unusual.
Just in the past 3 days, I happened to speak to an academic, a US politician and a former Biden official who had all received death threats and severe harassment from the MAGA movement. It's now a common experience. I am sorry MTG has to live through the same thing, but she can't be surprised
MTG: “.. “I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. .. The man I supported and helped get elected.”
