I just finished watching #AHouseOfDynamite on @Netflix.com. Excellent storytelling, but I'll leave any discussion to the thread to avoid spoilers.

The shortage of TSA agent has me worried. Who will protect the flying public from maniacs wielding more than 3 ounces of shampoo?

I found this while cleaning up. I'm going to spend it right away!

I'm working on an app the finds and animates anagrams. This is a sample of what v0.1.0 can do.

I'm working on an app (still in beta) to create anagrams. This one tickled me!

Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps.

The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years.

History is repeating. Pay attention.

Aside from the paltry amount (not too surprising since this year is only two weeks old), this screenshot of the Target app is both unhelpful and disingenuous

That's how much Big Oil has spent over the last 30 years paying off Congress to look the other way on climate action while the planet burns.

Well, the planet is burning.
Don't let them look away.

What proponents of Big Data often glossed over was how much bad/inaccurate data was in there, so it's no wonder that current LLM's "hallucinate" so much. The problem is that the current LLMs are producing even more questionable data to be consumed by future LLMs. I don't think this will end well.

Joyous Kwanza! Today's principle is Umoja, or "unity". We must remain united as a community to resist oppression.

At just sixteen bytes long, the definition of 'rebeccapurple' is a tiny easter egg in CSS4. But this tiny little easter egg in the CSS specification, now ten years old, is a tiny tribute to the human souls who make everything work.

So it begins
So I’ve had my 1st Black History Month event cancellation because of “DEI concerns,” citing a fear of frivolous suits. Funny thing is, I don’t do DEI, I’m a historian of the Black American experience. A reminder that DEI is just a dog whistle about suppressing history, if you need a reminder.

Wyoming residents also get nearly 4x as many electoral college votes per capita relative to California residents.
California, a state of nearly 40,000,000 people, has the same amount of representation in the United States Senate as Wyoming, a state of less than 600,000 people.

This is the direct result of a deal struck between slave states and free states in the 1700s.

It’s time for that to change.

annual reminder to use:
- a password manager, Bitwarden is free
- with different passwords for each account (PW Managers make this easy)
- 2-factor auth for every website, that is not tied to your phone number and instead uses an auth app

it will save your ass

This is the sort of democracy you associate with the CCP
Wild stuff going on in Texas right now. Amid an incredibly contentious Republican fight for Speaker of the House, the Texas GOP has passed a resolution vowing to censure anyone who doesn’t vote for party leaders’ preferred candidate — which will bar any censured lawmaker from running in primaries.
