🔥 A song about Trump’s visit to the UK.

Very few songs are genius. This one is. Those lyrics are killer.

Forced to subject my knackered knees to 3 hours standing on concrete last night. The 'view' from our seats at Barrow FC only included half the pitch, thanks to being next to high railings and a floodlight pylon. Thank you to the steward who let us on the terrace but those seats should not be sold.

Major setback on the new Tram Bridge in Preston. High river levels have damaged the walkway used by workers to access the second pier. The walkway has been flipped over for most of its length and the handrails damaged. It will be a big job to repair it.

Struggling to see Starmer as anything more than a Tory with a red rosette. What a disappointment he is proving to be.

Keir Starmer has faced staunch criticism from opposition parties for the Government’s latest white paper, which includes sweeping measures to reform the immigration system.

Hard to say how disappointing this morning‘s speech really was. Morally AND intellectually.

Starmer is as bad as those who came before him. What a bitter disappointment
Echoing the far right on immigration, his moral and intellectual stature has fallen away

Only 71 players have appeared in more league and Cup games for PNE than Ryan Ledson with 215. Thanks for all your effort and commitment, Ryan and best wishes for the rest of your career.

Preston North End's 20 draws equals the record for a 46 game league season set in 2005/06.

This is the 13th time in 126 seasons of league football that we have not had a positive goal difference at any point.

As my German friend says, 'Hope dies last' but it feels like all PNE fans are on life support today. No matter what happens by 2.30, this is the most important summer since John McGrath had to rebuild the squad after re-election in 1986.

Congratulations to Sky News for the most tenuous link of the year in a news story by managing to connect Jamie Vardy's retirement to the death of Pope Francis.

Since the start of the 2020/21 season, PNE have played 227 league games. They have only had a positive goal difference after 23 of those games. The aggregate GD for that period is -45 with three games of the current season to play.
April 19, 2025 at 9:51 AM
Two seasons ago, PNE won six of the final 15 league games. Last season, it was five. With three games still to play, PNE have one win in the previous 12 league games so a (highly unlikely) maximum of 4 in 15

Dear @unitedutilities.bsky.social
You have just put up my water bill by 16.48% so please can you list the extra services I will be receiving? My water consumption has been steady for the past four years so it isn't because I am using more ... Maybe it is to pay for all those new reservoirs?

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work.

The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty.

I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the government to rethink its cruel, shameful & completely irresponsible plan to cut benefits which will plunge 250,000 people, including 50,000 children into poverty - on its own impact analysis

Hard as nails left back John Ritchie was born 81 years ago today in Ashington. Despite having all four knee cartilage removed, he continued playing into his 30s in a career that included Port Vale, PNE and Bradford City. John died in 2012 aged 68.

I cannot in good conscience vote for any party that penalises people for having disabilities and refuses to tax those who can most afford to contribute to the country.

PNE have set one new record this season and could still pass or equal another. The 12 home draws is a record for a 46 game season (previously 10) and our 19 draws in all is only one behind the current record set in 2005/06.
