Apropos of nothing, there's a brutal tyrant with dark magic in my book who insists his methods are going to make Arcania great, and who wants to expand his empire into our world. He turns children into birds to terrify the population and keep the people in line. #booksky

New in-depth blog by Hilda Bastian, a Cochrane founder, on being severely let down by Cochrane. They 'exploded' the process for a new review on exercise for #MECFS and refused to remove an outdated, harmful one or add a note advising against its use.

What a week to have a book out about political corruption and powerful, abusive men! At least in my novel they get their comeuppance.

My first Anna Sharpe thriller. Out today in all formats in the UK, and in eBook and audio in the US.

Women’s illness/pain has historically been brushed off, ridiculed & vilified (in art/literature think of the monstrous bent hags with gnarly fingers). Still often invisible, we manage chronic illness under a heavy history of that misogyny. My novel, Sycorax, is dedicated to unwell women. #Sycorax
