My uncle has hard a hard time understanding just how bad the pain from #erythromelalgia is, but yesterday he called me to complain about his catheter and being stuck in the hospital all weekend with it. He said "I think I'm starting to understand how you feel with the constant pain and discomfort."

I have a google alert set up for erythromelalgia. Tonight I got a hit for a facebook post by the erythromelagia association about the treatment market (or lack thereof) I almost didn't click on it because I knew it was something I had already seen, but I decided to anyway and look at the comments.

Found out my uncle has cancer. He's waiting for biopsy results to see how bad it is, but I have a feeling it's very bad based on the horrifying symptoms he ignored for 6 months. 🤦♀️ I really love this stubborn old man and I'm not handling this well.

Whining ahead. I was doing some research as to why/how #erythromelalgia spreads, and it seems the theory is that over time, intense flares start stressing the surrounding blood vessels and then it seeps in there. My feet are out of control, especially overnight.
