Here's a Dahlia cutting I took, it's flowering. The original plant has very dark foliage. It was a bargain buy from the supermarket. If you start them off like this, no pests, no watering. Just the original water you start with. Very easy.

Cluster of tiny brown fungus, this is the only visible evidence of where a tree once grew. These shrooms grow in the same area every autumn/winter. Shrooms troop, only for a few days out of every year. At the site of where a tree grew many years ago. Surrounded by grass.

Leucism Leucism is an inherited absence of pigment cells, and can be total (causing whiteness of the whole plumage) or partial (causing whiteness in just parts). The white pattern is present throughout a bird’s life and does not change with age. Over three-quarters of the sightings reported through the BTO Abnormal Plumage Survey have been categorised as ‘leucistic’, with Blackbirds and House Sparrows most frequently spotted. We have used the term ‘leucism’ to describe plumage abnormalities where feathers become paler or turn white unexpectedly, but where eyes retain their normal dark colour. The latter feature has been used to distinguish leucistic birds from albinistic ones, which have red or pink eyes, owing to blood being visible through colourless tissue. While these broad categorisations have proved useful when recording birds at distance in gardens, there are subtleties to discover. BTO information. Black and white feathers. Thats a terrible name for a spider.
Here are the ones that have been hunting in my roses. Flower crab spiders. Stealth is the name of the game. My roses almost are finished now. Presume the spiders will die off and their eggs will over winter. New batches next year. Spiders are very underrated.
