Thank you! We moved back at the end of June. After Sarah’s cancer diagnosis and surgery last year we realized we wanted to be back here close to family and friends. I do miss the mountains every day though.

But also, to answer your question, the APA regulates and protects wetlands down to 1 acre. Department of environmental conservation is currently at 12.4 acres and only going down to 7.4 acres in 2028. So that’s thousands and thousands of acres that the APA protects that DEC does not.

I may be biased, but maybe the right question is “what does the DEC do that the APA can’t do…?” Cause I can think of a few hundred things the APA can do better. But again, I’m biased….
