One thing that’s really stressful for me is the social presumption of wellness and ability. If I don’t have my cane, it’s presumed that I can easily step around things or be put off balance. Because I have glasses, it presumed I can see. But these are my lenses.

This actually isn’t true. It’s what I keep trying to say. Elite academic institutions teach their students everything they need to run the country/world, which is the same thing. It’s why academia/elite higher education has so many barriers to entry. *I* was educated at these institutions.

Currently reading Decolonizing Therapy: Oppression, Historical Trauma, and Politicizing Your Practice by Jennifer Mullan, PsyD. Highly recommend, not just for mental health professionals (I’m not one). I’m about halfway through.
