We shouldn’t have to debate who “deserves” food, healthcare and housing.

We should be angry that these things aren’t guaranteed to everyone.

We should be outraged that the wealthy & corporations continue to profit off the misery and suffering of others.

All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

For the first time this century, child deaths under age 5 will likely rise. Why?
A dramatic drop in mortality for youngsters under age 5 has been one of the great accomplishments in global health. But estimates suggest that in 2025 child deaths will go up.

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.
The relative contribution of close-proximity contacts, shared classroom exposure and indoor air quality to respiratory virus transmission in schools - Nature Communications
The relative importance of close-proximity interactions, shared space and air quality to the transmission of respiratory viruses is not well understood. Here, the authors investigate this question by ...

Why is everyone addicted to gambling, wtf.
Adverts for any type of gambling should just be banned everywhere. That includes sports betting, prediction markets, cryptocurrency, trading individual stocks, and gacha games.

Some say it is illegal to arrest a sitting president. It is not. The president is subject to the law like everyone. That none have been arrested in the U.S. is only a policy internal to the DOJ based on the need for continuity of government operations--a policy that never imagined a criminal POTUS.

I’m so sick of dorks comparing waymo to uber and saying it’s better because you don’t get robbed or assaulted.

The comparison isn’t fucking uber. It’s goddamn TAXIS. TAXIS WORKED JUST FINE. They needed an app, and definitely to be more respectful to pedestrians around here, but otherwise fine.

Also really not enjoying everyone on here today hating on people getting packages delivered

There are 2 million Dutch people with disabilities, this is not a tiny minority that is okay to ignore in your argumentation. And no we do not all have help available let alone for every little thing we do

Yeah. Sometimes, behind all the bellowing and bluster and fluency in social justice verbiage, you might observe a person’s behavior and realize their vision of justice is just “When is it my turn at the top? When is it my turn to do the violence?”

I understand those sharing that their grandparents migrated here with very little & the children and grandchildren ended up doing highly valued jobs. I also hope we don't just value one another according to income or job. There are so many other ways people contribute to society and communities.

My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’
This is so disgusting.

Disabled people do not owe you their medical history.

They do not owe you their diagnosis.

They do not owe you an explanation.

Benefits are exceedingly hard to get and the process is punishing & dehumanizing.

No one is doing it for fun.

Because I simply cannot comprehend thinking or saying what they do about vulnerable people.

From the day I had to stop working, it took nine months before I knew whether I’d be able to financially survive or not.

And out of work disability benefits don’t even cover my mortgage, never mind anything else.

So stop acting like it’s an easy “choice” to make…

My entire childhood trauma is basically because I wouldn’t let adults abuse or groom me without a fight. And I got punished for that. My adulthood was stolen from me. Because I refused to be a good victim.

But now I’m supposed to do as I’m told and go along with the status quo? As fucking if.

I genuinely am sympathetic to the fact that the US education system, which was never particularly good, has been intentionally dismantled over decades to keep people complacent and susceptible to propaganda.

But my god it is SO ENRAGING how easily people fall for propaganda and support stupid bs 😡

Did you know that disabled people are far more likely to experience domestic abuse or be trapped in violent relationships?

There’s an imbalance of power when you’re depending on others for activities of daily living.

Disability also keeps you below the poverty line.

Fuck ICE Fuck Fascism.
