Study rooms in this building can be booked in advance, but ONLY via rooms.comp.dkit.ie

If you need access to the XOA Platform for creating Virtual Machines, be sure you fill in the request form and THEN login to XOA to initialise your account. Permissions are granted after this action.

Please note that ALL password resets will required a student card. If you do not have a student card, please acquire one from The Registration Office FIRST.

Computing Servers will be unavailable from 14th to 20th August while we carry out tests and upgrades. This includes GitLab, MySQL servers and Room Booking.

Imaging of labs has started for the summer in preparation for September. Please do NOT try to use a lab that has a "maintenance" notice on the door!

We've upgraded all the school MySQL server to the latest OS releases (and installed PHP 8.4). Student projects shouldn't be affected, but if you have any issue please create a helpdesk ticket as usual. Some PHP 8.2 functions might be deprecated (eg. utf8_encode()), Google is your friend here!

As Windows 10 reaches end of life in October this year, students can now create Windows 11 VMs inside XOA, no matter what their module xoa.comp.dkit.ie

XOA users are reminded to make a request for VM permissions via xoarequest.comp.dkit.ie. After requesting permissions, you must immediately login to the XOA Dashboard (xoa.comp.dkit.ie) to initialize your account. Permissions are then granted within 24 hours.

All issues regarding AV (audio/visual) software, hardware etc should be reported to Room P1061 or logged as a helpdesk ticket. Computing Technicians cannot assist with these issues.

All services are now restored. If you encounter any network anomalies, please report them on helpdesk.dkit.ie

There is a TOTAL service outage scheduled for Mon 13th to Tues 14th Jan. During this time there will be no network access to ANYTHING on campus, so plan accordingly. Most services eg. Email, Moodle etc will still be available from outside the college.
