If it’s an area in which you’re considered a strong & experienced contributor, yes, that’s a bit tight - with, as I say the exception of breaking news. I do observe however, that the ability to go “off the cuff” (which as a reporter for over 20 years I had to be good at) is very much on the wane

On the contrary - Radio gives time. Throwing someone in at the deep end is not conducive to a strong conversation. My own team works days in advance, save for coverage of breaking news. Overall, though Strong communication skills are essential in 2024/25 & they are not difficult to learn/sharpen.
