Nice to see things ramping up on this app. Mildly curious how this place picks up the pieces of what's left on the "other site."

As for me, I tend to post about cinema, horror games, apocalyptic ephemera etc. etc.

Also my cats, and occasional snapshots of life in the PNW.

Glad you're here.

give Sam Elliot one monologue in Landman and some great OST and watch it turn from streaming whatever into profundity.

Just a smashing wormed corpse on this 16th century grave I spotted the other day in the cemetery of St. Peter in Salzburg's old town. Check out the toad detail...

There isn’t.

Worth reading for lots of reasons, but particularly because it closes with something I see in my work and travels speaking on writing and AI. Many, maybe most students do not want AI-mediated schooling or lives. We can offer them something better. www.currentaffairs.org/news/ai-is-d...
AI is Destroying the University and Learning Itself
Students use AI to write papers, professors use AI to grade them, degrees become meaningless, and tech companies make fortunes. Welcome to the death of higher education.

picked up and read the four issue run this morning — even by 90s Dark Horse standards this ended up being an intense read. Lots of Alien: Earth backwards echoes. I wonder if some of this made its way into the mood board for that show.

That show so reminded me of these old Dark Horse comics.

it’s uncanny how the images and words that hang with us in life, from this or that movie or book, anticipate so many things better than any friend’s advice, or parent’s quiet nudge.

We were already always where we’d end up being, just set apart in time from the moment itself.

what a franchise — Wendy’s, Burger King, Casablanca!
Netflix, which rarely carries a single movie from before 1980, wants you to know how thrilled they are to acquire that classic piece of franchise IP, Casablanca

I've just handed in the last page for Event Horizon and #5's an absolute belter. Real honour to be back doing all this. I'll be talking about it all more with @oblivionbarpodcast.com soon, too, so take a gander and we'll circle back soon!
We ask @tristansbones.bsky.social comics writer and artist about his most pivotal comics and how he got into the industry!

Want to see his terrifying artwork? Grab Event Horizon: Dark Descent is at comic shops.

nobody will remember:
- your salary
- how "busy" you were
- how many hours you worked

people will remember:
- that one person or fictional character you could NOT shut up about, you made sure they never forget
