My folks bought me one of these (a 1956 model - registration number 7271 HK) after I passed my driving test in 1973. I beleive it set them back the princely sum of £50!

We've just arrived at our Christmas Airbnb in Northumberland, and switched on Netflix. I think the previous occupants may have some resentment issues!

Just witnessed a little girl arguing with her Dad in the supermarket that "Santa prefers beer NOT whisky"; which reminded me when my then 3yr old grasped a can of Royal Game Soup and exclaimed "Look Daddy, reindeer food!" I bought it, as I hadn't got the heart to tell her it was made FROM reindeer.

Being born in the town almost 69 years ago, I can remember when The Piece Hall was used (until 1972) as a wholesale fruit and vegetable market - and was almost demolished. Thank goodness we eventually realised the potential of the place!
