Watching the incredible Glen Manby celebration 30yrs of Jazz in the Bar at Chapter Arts Centre. I've just watched American Psycho with The Evolution of Horror podcast gang, now hanging out with Peppa, the Chapter cat and generally having a lovely time.

May the victims of Cheney's nihilism, deep evil and self-interest rest in peace.

I may flirt with other places, but I am devoted to Cardiff. Look at this gorgeous city. I'm currently sat in the cafe in the park surrounded by happy people and boisterous dogs, staring a huge, thick, sprawling oak tree on the river bank. Bliss, innit.

Happy anniversary to Ghostwatch! Huge thanks to Pontypridd legend Steve Volk for writing the most terrifying time I've ever had watching TV.

I can't find her on here but Mary Mack from the band Kissing Practice has just pulled my brain into focus like a dolly zoom.

Well, I quoted @bilgeebiri.bsky.social in my introduction to Hamnet tonight, warning everyone that this was going to be an emotional experience but I don't remember the last time I was sobbing so hard with 180 other people. Hamnet is an incredible film. Go see it when it opens in January.

Really moving speeches from Senedd members Alan Davies and Huw Irranca Davies; Ruth Cocks (British Council Wales); and Inna Yehorova (Ukrainian Embassy) about the importance of cultural exchange and understanding at our event to celebrate Ukrainian culture at Chapter. Truly feel a bit more inspired.

Hayley Cropper on Coronation Street. Not played by a Trans actor, but a pioneering role, watched by millions of people multiple times a week in the UK through the 90s and 00s. The actress who played her Julie Hesmondhalgh is a wonderful person.

There is so much to celebrate in the life of Robert Redford. He was beautiful; a wonderful, natural actor; a perceptive filmmaker; he created an incredible film festival in a town far away from Hollywood; created a lab programme for emerging filmmakers; was an activist till the end. What a life. RIP

Really excited to get the latest @filmstories.bsky.social in the post. I've been reading online for years but it's more important than ever to support print media. It's packed! So many interesting articles, I had no idea. Weekend is looking good!

Is there a better festival in the UK than @supersonicfest.bsky.social ? No other festival would open with the expression of sheer femme joy every year. 2025 Mermaid Chunky. Everyone dancing, pure joy. Bendithia Duw.

Anyone I know going to see Michael Shannon do Stars in Their Eyes-REM in the Thekla? It says 6.30pm - 8.30pm on the Internet but that seems like a very stupid time for a gig.

At my mum's and we're watching The Bargee on Talking Pictures. Pawb, I think I fancy Ronnie Barker.

(I have always fancied Harry H Corbett and Eric Sykes).

A lovely cat has found her way into our office. This is the future liberals want. More Art Centres with cats please.

I have comfortably made the weirdest meal of my life. I went in with a plan: cauliflower breaded with tumeric hummus and mango and coconut. Tried to do couscous as an accompaniment but chucked in some chia seeds and made frogspawn by mistake. These do not go together. Frankie disapproves.

Pet Shop Boys in Cardiff Castle was absolutely joyous. I still don't like big gigs but it is special seeing the castle keep lit up and surrounded by a loving audience having a nice time. Se a Vida é surprised me, maybe it was the setting but one of my favourite moments of the night. All bangers.

I was able to go to the beautiful island of Tiree off the West Coast of Scotland. I got to do workshops with incredible women, swam naked in the North Sea with seals, took part in some amazing film events. This was all down to Sea Change Festival. You can go!

Not a surprise, but disappointing nonetheless. Until 2019 MP Stephen Doughty was a signed up "Friend of Palestine".🙄
