It’s #CDFriday time of the week. Got an email this AM mentioning the 30th anniversary of the Coldcut mix, so it seemed as good a reason as any to dig that one out.

See Autechre perform live if you can!! Saw them last night and it was an incredible mind-melting mixture of relentless beats and ear-tickling soundscapes, performed with the audience in total darkness. I’ll be processing this experience for quite some time. Whoo!!

Very much enjoyed Belly celebrating 30 years of their “King” album tonight by playing it front-to-back, and then coming back for a second set of their other great tunes. They still rock!!

Met music legend Arthur Baker today near Berklee where he talked about his career (and his new book, Looking For The Perfect Beat) with Prof. Prince Charles Alexander. Fascinating stuff! Can’t wait to get into the book.

Went to add a song by the Japanese dub band Audio Active (they were on @onusound.bsky.social back in the day) to a playlist, and while their original albums are there, there are also many additional 2025 entries that all look like AI slop. Is there a way to report this nonsense to Apple Music?

Originally had “closest front lawn” ticket (best non-VIP) at Suffolk Downs and it cost $121 all in. Dunno if that falls into “too expensive” territory for a 78-year-old icon (who can honestly bring it pretty darn well, all things considered), but there were cheaper tickets to be had too.
