Breffni Radio was an country and Irish music #pirate broadcasting from #Cavan from 1984-88. It returned briefly the following year but was raided and put off the air on this day, 1st December. Listen here to a recording of Breffni during its short return.

The death has been announced of the #Galway activist Margaretta D'Arcy at the age of 91. Margaretta set up a #pirate #radio station Women's Scéal Radio in 1987, which became Radio Pirate Woman in 1989. Listen here to our interview with Margaretta in 2020.
