Random notes. There is a "roof garden" in my carport gutter. A parent blamed me for an insurance rule. Another one said to her daughter "I love the hell out of her" as I was closing the door. My daughter cried on the phone bc her baby has a tooth and time is too damn fast.

Anne Lamott's quote on writing your story regardless of the effect on other ppl seems iffy. Ppl can change, and causing them pain won't make anything better. I feel mostly struck silent about my life. I shred my journals. It's why I am trying to paint. Something true minus the story.

Everywhere I have ever worked gives MMR and Varivax at 12 mo then MMRV at 4. The excess risk of febrile seizures is extremely small of course. But it's already a recommendation to give separately for first dose. So what are they on about? I don't get it.

One nice thing (among many) about being a pediatrician is that kids appreciate my amateur artwork 😂. I have all these little practice watercolors, and when pts give me a drawing present, I write a little thank you note on the back of one.

On my wish list of things to learn! I have a machine but find it a bit stressful. I sewed my grandbaby a dress by hand that turned out really well so I'm planning to try that for myself. Takes longer (backstitching) but could do on sofa while watching a show!

Perfect Saturday. Chores in the morning, video call with grandbaby, singing Ma Muse in a sunny meadow with friends, and just now at the grocery store an older woman asked if these are my natural curls 😂! Yep, this wild gray frizz is all mine.

When I have time, this is how I respond to recruiting ads for jobs in states that oppress pregnant people and trans people. If they got a lot of responses like this maybe they would let employers know. Ultimately $ is all they care about.

My cousin recently found these old photos-- my parents taking a mirror selfie way back in prob 1963 😂. In his lap I look like his mini me. He died in 2020 from Covid. I was so lucky! He raised me atheist and told me ALL the dad jokes. He gave me his stubborn streak and his goofy sense of humor.

Sweetest part of trip-- taking my turn giving her tummy time, between folding laundry, errands, cooking, etc. Meanwhile Super 8 worker folded my ratty pjs with the missing buttons 😂😂😂. No one has folded my laundry since I was maybe six. Better than getting flowers! Way to my heart!

I don't have the key yet bc the other realtor accidentally took it 😂. So tomorrow night I will do my ritual eating of ice cream from the carton while sitting on the floor of the empty new to me home. Exciting!
