"8. Quatermass Collection - Limited Edition Box Set, spanning from 1953 to 1979, also costs £225."
A set I'm sure many Brits will have casually sat on their shelves, tucked between Friends and Breaking Bad.
At least they would if such a box set ACTUALLY EXISTED. Starting to think AI wrote this.

And another.

Third time's a charm:
"The World at War - Ultimate Restored Blu-ray Edition, 1973-1974, is priced at £225."
Erm, that's a Blu-ray set. You guys said this was a list of 15 DVDs titles.
No matter, everyone makes mistakes. Some make more than most, apparently, but let's continue...

"13. Red Dwarf - Just the Shows DVD Box Set, 1988-1999, is priced at £150."
I'm sure it is priced at £150, probably on a dusty shelf in some quaint collectables shop being run by an absolute chancer.
No matter, I still believe in you Tracy Martin and
*checks notes*
Bally Casino. Seriously?

Maybe the article is referring to the DVD partwork set as being "£350 on average". Let's check eBay.
£100.
Tops.
If you're bloody lucky.
No worries, I'm sure it's just an honest mistake and the other 14 DVDs on the list will all be worth big bucks...

"The Carry On Film Collection takes the top spot for being the most valuable. A complete box set of films from the much-loved British comedy series can command around £350 on average."
Wow! If a supposedly "complete" set (Columbus counts, folks!) is worth £350, I bet CeX will be offering big... oh

"In a recent study, Bally Casino identified several DVDs that could be surprisingly valuable."
A casino. Checking DVD prices. That can't be good for business.
But wait:
"They worked with collectables expert Tracy Martin to gain insights into what makes certain editions stand out"
Reassuring.

Bear in mind it took 3 journalists to write - and presumably fact check - this article. The first is ostensibly a Daily Express travel journalist (okay?), the second an editor at Liverpool Echo, and the third a Yorkshire Live editor with a very unfortunate name of which I am sure he is well aware.

Thanks Paul, I thought that might have been the case! Was usually Dropbox access for me too - the Cushing/Dalek films were the sole exception when the wonderful Peter Ware very kindly arranged to send me the physical sets, a lovely bonus.

Thanks Paul, I obviously missed it! :)
Out of interest, did you have access to the restored episodes when you were commissioned, or was it just the VAM you were asked to consider?

Thanks Chris! Yes, that's rather odd isn't it? For at least the previous three Collection releases, the review appeared in the issue immediately following the preview. Wonder why that didn't happen this time?

Makes total sense now, cheers Joel. Used to seeing credits attached to clips on TV, usually Channel 5 and their "When They Fucked Up" schedule filling clip shows, but not descriptions/commentary like this. I wish fair dealing in the UK was less confusing, especially for YouTubers!

Five quid to post a single disc DVD which if in a cheap case would probably weigh under 100g?
Classic Brian.
