This idea that disabled people should be made to suffer stems from systemic ableism.

What’s worse, eugenics and fascism always go hand in hand.

Disabled people warned folks for years this was where the US was headed, but because our lives are undervalued, no one listened:
Why Do We Undervalue the Lives of Disabled People?
Ableism is why. Capitalism is why. A 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' mentality is why. We can and must do better, and it starts with a commitment to stop debating a person's worth.

Donate to mutual aid and community fridges.

Give rides to and from the grocery store or do their groceries for them

Cook a few meals for someone and drop them off

There are many wonderful community care solutions, but too often people shame instead of help

Let’s commit to helping instead /end l

We deserve better than this.

None of us should have to justify the pittance we receive to survive.

None of us should be made to feel guilty for doing what we need to live to see another day.

If delivery apps offend you this much, offer to pick up food for a disabled person.

The fact of the matter is these people aren’t angry we sometimes access a “luxury” like DoorDash, they’re angry we’re given anything to help us survive at all.

When they say “what did you do before delivery apps?” They aren’t asking genuinely.

They don’t care that in many cases, people died.

Delivery services are a lifeline for disabled people.

We don’t get extra money from the tax payer when we use them… we have to budget and usually that means going without another necessity.

Until you’ve had to choose between food and meds or food and housing, perhaps don’t weigh in

People act like their tax dollars shouldn’t support disabled people and that if they do, it must be the most bare bones life imaginable.

They want us to suffer.

They want us in legislated poverty.

Why? Ableism. They want us to die faster because they see us as “useless eaters”

8. As the trans “social contagion” panic about trans people proliferates today in the form of state, federal and international attacks, at least one thing has become clear: This vestige of hate never really went away to begin with.
