I haven’t flown Carp in about 35/40 yrs, I also remember Bradley Air operating DC3s out of there. It’s changed a lot since then.

I should have said he ‘has’ been Capt checked, not ‘was’ which inplies he got it at hiring.

It’s rare but my FO got hired with a fresh commercial/IFR, C182 time and less than 700 total…onto a CJ3 …he was Capt checked and has about 1500 now…anything is possible 😉

The process sucks sometimes but it is the process.
There are other options unless you really want an airline job. Look/ask around the local airports. Private jets / businesses often don’t advertise jobs and can be more rewarding and lucrative than airline/charter. 😉

Just a small consideration, before you move on from instructing (if you intend to) think hard about which cubby hole of flying you want. Then research each thoroughly. Eg. I chose bush flying because it combined my interests of flying, camping/outdoors. 😉

That’s across the lake from us, and if you cross north, try Toronto Island airport (CYTZ) it’s similar too and access right to the downtown.
