I always forget to mention: model of Shy Guy is NOT by me: it's from Mario Party Superstars.

For the render, I was trying to emulate the original MK DS official render of Shy Guy. It's wild to think those looked so cool when I was a kid and now a single person with Blender can do stuff like that.

This model took longer than I thought, as I ran into issues with the normal map baking around the sharp edges of the body. Came out real nice in the end though, and right below 10k tris too!

This model took way too long to finish, I got a bit burnt out working on this one ngl. Not that it was a hard model to do, just been doing a lot of models in a row. Still came out nice though.

Any specialized program is daunting at first. I would recommend watching an intro tutorial to understand the layout and basic functions, then toy around in Blender a bit, do small practice things, then watch more tutorials as need arises on specific things. Learn by taking small bites at a time.

Here's a couple cool shots + technical info. Version 1 was wayyy below tri budget so I was generous with this one. Came out great

I love that silly pop-up headlight. It was a thing I really wanted to add to the car and is directly inspired by Mario Kart World's standard kart, it's such a fun detail.

Model took just under 9 days to complete. Very happy with the base shapes but I realized half-way through that if I wanted a more detailed interior cockpit, I would have to design AND model an entire motorcycle inside, which I didn't intend to. Chose to stick with the original "void" interior.
